I bought this game when it first came out and loved it (despite never finishing it). For some reason, hearing that robot - er, automaton - say "Kate Walker" all the time stuck in my head all these years. When I saw the sale I grabbed them both, spent a bit of time on the first tonight.

I think it looks good and works well, and is still interesting. I'm so used to more modern games that when I play point-and-click I find myself wanting to move the screen with my mouse and thinking "I should zoom here" - oops, can't do that.

I reached my first "stuck" point - trying to get the machine going to construct Oscar's feet. Haven't figured that out yet. Ah well, time to crack open another beer and have at it!
I agree, they are both classic adventure games :) I still own them on disc from when I bought them back when they came out, but I went ahead and bought them on GOG anyway to support the game and have extra copies. I plan to replay them before Syberia 3 is out later this year :)
