The problem I'm having (with the first Syberia game) is one that the developers claimed was addressed in a patch (patch 3, as seen here http://www.fileplanet.com/116215/110000/fileinfo/Syberia-Patch-SP3-%28Canadian/European%29).

Basically, during conversations, one character will start saying their lines before the other is finished and it's hard to understand either character.

My assumption was that GOG's version would be the latest, with these patches applied, but I figured I'd try to install the patch anyway (not that simple, I had to create a registry entry so that it recognised that I'd installed the game). This didn't do anything though, and the problem is still there.

Has anyone else run into this problem and managed to fix it? I searched a few keywords but I couldn't find anyone else here having the problem, which seems quite strange. A couple of Google hits, but no suggestions other than installing patch 3.

For reference, I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, and I've tried running in Windows 98 compatability mode, running as an administrator, both, and neither. The problem exists in all cases.

I should probably also note that it doesn't occur on every conversation, but it is repeatable. For example it does occur whenever I talk to the guy on the bench more or less opposite the hotel where you start the game.
