So I'm playing through the career with bots and I've just cleared a room. Then my squadmates see a suspect through a window and start chasing him. I know that usually ends up getting them killed so I start spamming the "Fall In" command and they just say "I'm busy!" and continue chasing him. They of course ended up getting gunned down. What's the point of me being the leader and having commands if the squadmates won't listen to them? It makes no sense. When I give an order they should follow it; no questions asked. But that's not the case.

Also I ran into a bug involving the squadmates, surprise surprise. I was clearing out rooms and told them to fall in when I noticed one of them was missing. I assumed he was dead so I checked the status of my squad. It said that all 4 were healthy.
So I continue spamming the fall in command until I could identify who was missing. It was Girard, as when he answered the text popped up in the bottom left but I couldn't hear him. So I ran around for about 5 minutes looking for him, nowhere to be found. So I decide to keep going, but the thing is the squad won't do an action until all of them are in position and since Girard was missing they would just stand next to a door waiting to execute my "gas & clear" order, waiting for Girard to be in position. When I tried to get them to do something else they'd just tell me that they're already busy.

Are there any fan patches to fix this stuff? It's incredibly annoying and ruining my enjoyment of the game.

Squadmates that run on their own I think might be fixed in the expansion, long time since I saw that but I don't play the original version as I prefer the expansion or mods.

I think the issue with squadmates refuse to take action when one is missing is fixed in the Elite Force mod. There are plenty of mods you can try out, some of them fix bugs. Elite Force is the one that's most updated but also makes the game harder. I would play the original and the expansion before moving on to mods.

Thank you! I'm trying them out now!
No mod so far has really been able to fix the Officer Ai and trust me, I have tried them all from SSF, HSME, SAS, and Canadian forces nothing has really worked. A new recent mod to swat 4 (SEF) is doing some changes, however I haven't tried it to see if they have fixed the friendly ai as the readme/change log for that mod doesn't say anything about it.

SWAT 4 was a rushed game, many features not implemented and the officer Ai is completely brutal compared to SWAT 3.
