At the moment I start the game nothing appears off, until I get to the menu. Where it begins flickering and it only gets worse the deeper I go into the menus - like when I enter the squad member and equipment menus. When starting a scenario/mission the flickering disappears and is replaced by what I assume is a severely lowered frame rate. My control inputs - specifically those for looking around and moving - seem slower, as does the movements of the AI around me seem slower. It appears as if the game is taking too long to move onto to the next frame.

I saw a post about some CCCP codec pack that was supposed to fix the DDERR GENERIC error. I decided to install it, but it did not work. Is the DDERR GENERIC error and my problem even related to one another?
