Today i bought swat 2. When i start the game it appears normal. When i start, select swat or terroriist and move on. The game crashed and i see another window opening with a smartheap library error.

anyone got any solutions|?
I also have this same issue. The game launches fine but regardless of which side I choose to start a new campaign with, it crashes out with a "smartheap library" error.

i5 2500K
nVidia GTX 560
8GB RAM
Win64
Having the same issue on my PC as well, SWAT 2 will not play the intro video, nor will it launch a campaign

Running NVIDA GTX650 graphics cards on Windows 7 64 bit
I have send a email to support. I got this respons:

Hello
Please go to the game's directory (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Police Quest SWAT 1 2\SWAT 2) and change the name of the Movies folder to see if this is an issue with the videos.

I did it an it works. The game starts. Of course without movies, but now at least i know the problem. Lets see if we can figure it out further...
I was getting this error too. Turns out it's a video problem. I fixed it by going to ninite.com and installing the K-Lite video codec pack. Hope this works for you.
The K-Lite Codec solution worked for me too.
I recently installed SWAT 2 to my laptop (it's an older laptop so I was hoping it would run the game more easily) and got the same error still. I installed the EVERYTHING K-Lite Codec Pack and I still cannot play the game due to this crash.
I had this problem too, but got it working. I originally had CCCP and K-Lite installed from Ninite. I went to download K-Lite directly and ended up getting an older version, so I didn't install it. Instead I uninstalled K-Lite completely planning to install the older version, but I decided to try the game first. Having uninstalled K-Lite, it did work. The game plays the movies.

However, I also only tried it with the replacement movies which you can probably find by Googling "steam SWAT 2 replacement movies". I can't post links.

So maybe using the replacement movies works if you have no K-Lite (or any older version).
Having had the same problem starting SWAT 2 in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and following on from the above post, this is what I attempted...

I found the SWAT 2 replacement movies at moddb.com and downloaded them from there.

Here's the link: https://www.moddb.com/games/police-quest-swat-2/downloads/swat2-xvid-movies

Once downloaded, open the zip archive and copy all the video files to:

C:\GOG Games\Police Quest - SWAT 2\Movies (using the copy and replace option when prompted)

However, that didn't work and there was the same problem starting the game. It's at that point I followed some of the advice from earlier in this thread by going to ninite.com to download the K-Lite codecs.

This time I reinstalled the game and with just the K-Lite codecs, it ran fine.
Have you tried this fix for the movies?
