I am trying to locate the location of game saves, but haven't had any success by searching other forums and checking the standard locations. It would be nice to enable my own ad-hoc cloud sync, but to do this I have to find the folder where GOG puts the game save files.

Any help would be appreciated! I've also reached out to GOG support for help and will update with any useful information.

Wow, I somehow missed that. Thanks!
I found it myself after some searching a few months ago because the save files were taking up way to much space on my SSD. Removing them from there was way faster haha..

Glad I could help. :D

Seconded. After just a couple days of play my save dir was taking up almost 2 gigs.
Saves for smaller colonies start around 35MB each.

To add to this thread, any MacOS users can find their save games at:
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Surviving Mars/Save/
On Linux the folder's at : ~/.local/share/Surviving Mars/Save
