IDK about you all, but these storms and that anomoly that hovers over the surface of my colony is getting pretty old fast.

Yes this is a survival game, but an ion storm every couple of SOL's is ridiculous. The last one had 2 storms at once, and was crippling the entire colony...

Who ever made those "Storms" can take a long walk off a short pier....

Pick a landing spot that has few to none Dust Storms. You do this during Set Up. Now mind, you might have some other climate challenge which is more common in the new spot. In my mind, dust devils and cold waves are much more challenging than dust storms. Meteor showers are practically a benefit (though you may occasionally have a frantic day of repair, its all repairable, and you get lots of new surface metal and sometime polymer.)
Lets see, what else.
Um, the impact of dust storms on your infrastructure is much less if you are building on higher ground/plateau within your map.
There are several mid-game + techs that lessen the impact of dust storms. Well, really, of dust in general.
Dust storms vastly increase the power output of wind turbines. You can build some extra accumulators to take advantage.

Oh, and they are dust storms, not ion storms, which are a deep space phenomenon.
