Quote of the Superfrog manual:
During the game you will be given codes to restart at various levels, these can be typed in here.

Since the level codes seem to be the only way to "save progress" (correct me on this if I'm wrong) I thought I wanted to ask about them here. So far I have only made it to world 2, but I have yet to see any of these codes. My initial thought was that I was given a code after finishing each level. Am I missing them out or will I get the level code(s) for world 2 later in the game?

In advance, thank you very much for your answer. :)

I'm afraid that the only way to learn codes in-game is to win it through the lottery after completing given world.
Besides that, there is no way to save game progress.

You can either win them at the slots or look them up online.
I'm surprised that this is the only way to reach some kind of milestone in the game! That's very hardcore, unless you check the codes online of course. :p

Thanks both of you for being kind enough to reply!
There are the level codes :

LEVEL 1
1 000000
2 448745
3 327233
4 847566
LEVEL 2
1 700517
2 327233
3 259501
4 512198
LEVEL 3
1 519347
2 160158
3 685550
4 638667
LEVEL 4
1 626495
2 675586
3 951616
LEVEL 5
1 890654
2 621038
3 464938
4 779296
LEVEL 6
1 188656
2 173309
3 641007
4 103546

But I think, the real pleasure in this game is to do all from the beginning to the end. It can be long and difficult, but that's the challenge. :D
Uhm, sorry to nitpick, but you missed out the code for 4-4; it's 210424.

I ended up using codes instead of dealing with the lottery crap. Fun game, not near one of my favorite platformers but still pretty good.
I don't know about back in the day, or the Amiga version, but on my computer I should probably fiddle with DOSBox to slow the game as much as possible if I want to gamble and get the password, it flashes ridiculously fast and it becomes a question of pure luck.

Did it flash that fast already back then ?

The original DOS version just kept the password on screen until you pressed a button.

I mean when you're playing the lot machine, the lights flash really fast.

Oh yeah. It's pure luck. There's no way of predicting how it'll go.
Just as an fyi to people, the 2-2 level code is actually 646900
