I plan to watch some videos and see but thought I'd ask what you guys think here as well. I'm going to buy it either way but I'm hoping it's difficult.

Oh, it's quite challenging ;) The amiga version was difficult to being with, but Team17 did botch the port in the way that the wings powerup are much harder to operate.

Team17 had relatively little to do with the port. It was converted by Arden Aspinall of Bubball Systems and he rewrote 95% of the code himself!

But yes, it is challenging. Rest assured, though, that the original PC version was much, much harder than the one you'll download from GOG... somehow!
