Anyone else dealing with a launch issue with SS2 where the error window shows a "CA_Desc" error window title with "Unknown avai desc" in the middle of the error window?

I just purchased a digital copy of Sudden Strike: The Complete Anthology and both SS1 and SS3 work without issue, however; SS2 and SS2 Resource War will not completely load to the menu.

I have been unable to find anything on the internet about this issue other than one thread on a German SSR map editing site where the thread speaks of a created map having a aviation plane that it does not recognize. This can't be the case on my copy as this occurs directly after installation and has nothing to due to a map I made as I have not made any - this is the main exe.

I am running on Win10 with Windows XP SP2 compatibility enabled. I checked the attributes of the folders and have tried various other things such as moving files around in the folder structure, however; to no avail.

Anyone else seen or heard of this? Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

I figured this issue out by editing the config file, it was attempting to load directly to the game and not the menu. Now I have a DDraw unable to launch 640x480x16 error. I have already tried multiple DD wrappers without issues. This is another error that I can't seem to find the answer to on the net, if anyone knows a way around this let me know. Thanks

This is solution how run Sudden Strike 2
1. Go to on Github and search file DDrawCompat
2. Download it
3. Extract file
4. Copy this file and paste him in your game directory
5. Play

This is not all my solution on stream i found something similar
I don't know if it works with Sudden Strike Resource War.
Do not start a game with 640x480 compatibility.
All feedbacks are welcome.

Works, only used the ddraw.dll from github. Also works for Resource War.
