For anyone who has a problem with low volume in Sudden Strike 1 I've found a possible solution (at least for Win 7 64bit). I've bought Sudden Strike 1 (among others) when they were releaased and recently reinstalled it and found that the volume levels were extremely low even at full volume in the ingame settings. At first I was confused as I remember that the sound was much higher when I first installed it. So for anyone else having problems with low sound I've found potential fix for it (in the steam forums of all places) Just go to your Sudden Strike 1 install folder and rename:

GAME_EXE.EXE to GAME.EXE

This has worked for me it might work for you.
