Hello everyone!

For those of you bought Subterrain on GOG, I give my deepest thanks!

I just want to give you guys a head up that there is a major update being worked on. It is going to be a free update, and it is going to be ready in a few weeks.

There is one thing about the update with backward save game compatibility. I want the game to be backward compatible with the major update, but there is some chance that this may not happen. I will try our best.

I do not want to spoil the fun, but the updates basically picks up with West's personal story and the whole incident.

Thanks and if any of you has a questions, please let me know!
Looking forward to it!
Sounds great. I haven't really gotten very far, can't seem to figure out how to progress from central control, maybe I should put it off until the update hits.

So far, good atmosphere and rather tense, and I've only encountered two enemies and I'm still worried when I move around.

To be honest with you , Subterrain is not an easy game. So the players will rarely will be able to finish the game in one go, so I think it is safe for you to just play the game to learn about the game. The update is not going to affect the beginning game play much.

I got stuck in the central control center. The finding of keycards does seem to be rather a break on speed. I get that keycards is a good way to gate off stuff, but it takes a while to stumble across them by looking through all containers. Found the Keycard A and the power room card and in the power room I found access to the reactor. But from your post on the Steam forum I found trying to figure out how to progress you note that I should be able to find more cards in the area.
The main Central control area isn't that big in terms of where you can look for such cards.

The cards you get from the area let you go further to the 2 more locked area, (Engineering and Research)

From those two areas , you can also find the keys to the mine and biosphere.

Thank you for the help there :-)

I'll likely find out. I managed to take the tram to the plaza, but haven't found my way into the separate engineering or research areas yet even if I feel I've been over the entire map there. I've gone scavenging in the plaza hoping maybe the keycards or access to those areas can be found there.

I'm getting the feeling the control hub area is always the same, perhaps a note in the journal that you need to find the keycards can be made there, as the journal seemed to update and suggest I moved on via the tram.
Took a chance supporting your effort, hope it pays off!

edit: Finished the first stage... is there no hotkey for backpack? I can't find it under controls to use or rebind...

Just press interact key (default E) when you are not facing any interact-able objects.

I don't want to post exact spot for the keycards because I don't want to spoil the discovery for the others, so if you want to find out, you can email me or go to Steam forum and ask there. I am still trying to figure out the way to post here something that I can make it to be spoiler proof tag. such as

I'm sure I'll find them at some point. I think I'll restart the game on my desktop. For some reason the game gets another stat to track on my laptop... While not wanting my character to freeze to death, prolonged play sessions seem to make my laptop burn. So I need to keep track of two temperatures ;-)

I saw the images you posted on the steam forums and tehy look nothing like an area I could find. I'll retry.

Hello !

Unused endings , am I right ? =)

BTW - great game !

This is the best space horror I ever played.
After SS 1-2 of course.

A comment: maybe the weapon penalties should be less steep? I'm finding that most of the time I'm going back to the base because of weapon strain...

What do you exactly mean weapon strain. Do you mean heat build up?

Heat build up should reduce automatically when not in use. If this is not happening, let me know. It must be a bug.

If you are talking about battery amount from power pack, you can produce more and then carry them with you. You can also research them to increase their capacity as well as having less weights.
No, I meant deterioration. Since we are stuck at 50% or close by (particularily at the beginning), I find myself lugging around several weapons just to make sure none of them reach 0 durability, which would be a deal-breaker.
In the same line of things: machineguns take an ungodly long time to be repaired after each combat.

Bugs: I have noticed that sometimes inventory boxes do strange things. I placed a gun in a crate, and it disappeared when I went to retrieve it. Then I left the hub, and when I came back the gun was in the crate once again.

Other than that the experience has been excellent. I'm getting a very nice hybrid diablo/minecraft/doom experience out of the game. Two thumbs up :)

Humm strange bug with missing crate. It could be UI scroll thing. try scrolling up and down to make sure the item isn't there.. let me know if it happens again.

you can upgrade the repair bay to speed things up, but yeah things can be a bit slow in the beginning. but then there aren't that many mobs in the beginning compared to the later stage of the game.
