Hi there. I bought the game, I downloaded but when I push "play" button the doesn't start. Can somebody help me? I tried with compatibility but nothing happened.

Hello Buddy,
I downloaded Stronghold 2 for free from here Softquack[com] but same as you, the setup is not working.
I would also purchase this game but please let me know first why the version you purchased is not working & why the version I free downloaded is not working?

You have to activate Direct Play in the Legacy Features of Windows 10 in order to make Stronghold HD work. At least it does for me. Note that Windows 10 is not officially supported by GOG for Windows 10 (game page).
To activate Direct Play:
Go to Apps & Features in the Control Panel
Click on Programs and Features
Click on Activate/Deactivate Windwows Features on the left
Look for Legacy Components
Mark the checkbox for Direct Play
It should run now. The game then ran slowly on my machine, but I managed to work around it by setting compatibility to Windows 8, deactivating Fullscreen enhancements and running as admin.
