GOG release is probably due to demand on their Kickstarters page. I would have had more reservations if I couldn't buy this game DRM free on GOG.
I for one never would have bought the game if it was a Steam exclusive.

Unless Lucasarts finally opens their catalog, GOG is starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel in terms of old games. I'd rather have a guaranteed source of DRM-free games than throw a fit over gorgeous new releases in DRM-free format not quite fitting the website title.
Just wait a few years and and the game will fit the title.
