I know there are similar joystick/throttle threads below, but I wasn't sure if resurrecting them would be worthwhile.

Back in the day I played SC on my DOS machine WITH the Thrustmaster FCS/WCS combo that is directly supported. Actually I still have a Win 98 machine with those that I may try to get up and running....but I digress...

I have Strike Commander (CD Version, not the GOG version) running on my Win 7 CORE I7 machine in DOSBOX with the tweaks presented elsewhere in the forum. My Cougar is recognized in Windows and in DOSBOX.

I cannot seem to get my THROTTLE to work no matter what. For awhile it was working as the HAT switch, so I did a SWAP34=TRUE and it seemed OK. I also have Rudder pedals attached which may be confusing SC even more.

In the ALT-O options, I selected both THRUSTMASTER options. I selected FCS as DOSBOX joystick type. Also tried the 2AXIS type but when I went to calibrate STICK 2 (THROTTLE) it wasn't recognized. Clearly I think there is a problem with axis assignments, but SC is not very configurable in that regard.

Any suggestions?

Loved this game back in the day, though I fear that the graphics are far too dated to enjoy today. Maybe the lack of working throttle is a blessing in disguise.

I could probably program the throttle as a DIGITAL axis and use it that way, but I was hoping to get it recognized as an ANALOG device as used to be the case for the FCS/WCS pair.
You have to create a Profile in the Target Software like i did for my warthog. Even the throttle works.

For the Throttle you have to create an Event on this Axis with Axmap2

For example MIL1:

Event Name: MIL1
Key Command: 1
Type: Pulse
Delay: Default
Comment: leave blank if you want to
First Percentage:0%
Second Percentage 10%

Repeat this for MIL2 to MIL5 and AFT1 to AFT5. But just change the First percentage to 11% and the second to 20% and so on

i hope this will help you a bit

Best regards
