On it's face the game is pretty cool. As you progress you start running into many annoyances that make the game less fun.I'll give a short header for each issue I have found annoying then a description behind. This is all in the hopes the developers can address some of these issues and make this game a classic.

1. Save system is extremely inconvenient.

Traversing the entire map just to make it back to your hotel room and save is exceptionally annoying especially when there are no quick travel features. I believe that the main map is 17x10. That's 170 possible mini-maps (not including dungeon/building mini-map levels) to traverse... and all lead back to a hotel room to be saved.

Example: Abbey of the holy revelation is 9 squares away from my room. That's 9 maps (usually chock-full of encounters), 3 maps in the abbey, and 9 maps to get back to the bed and finally save. 21 huge maps before I am permitted to save my progress... can you say ouch? And this doesn't even count the multiple trips to get as much loot as I can squeeze out of the place.

2. Map does not show where your character is located.

When you have to move 6 map squares down, 3 map squares over and have had several fights occupying your mind in the interim, you may lose track of where you are. How do you get back to town and save? Good luck!

3. There is nowhere to check the time.

Merchants are not available during certain periods. I once had to sleep 4x to get it just right. This costs money because you need to eat food in between and you lose time on your room. Also my eyes find it difficult to see during the night phase so I don't like going out at night.

4. Inventory is way too small.

With all the items we need to carry just in case so many things happen, there is very little room leftover to carry many items. You need these items as gold is difficult to accrue in the game (especially at the start). The purse size of 2,000 gold max makes storage suck even more. The hotel room chest also has very limited capacity.

Example of required inventory: Bandage for bleeding, Splint for stabilizing, Salve for body-part percent damage reduction, coin-purse, map, 3 food items, pain-reducer, intoxication reducer, water-skin, lock-picks. If you are going to have multiple encounters (very possible!) you need more copies of some of these items. Very little room left to do what we all want most.... LOOT! Give us a donkey or something to buy for extra space? A food sack? A medical bag? Increase inventory? All the above? Anything I beg you!

5. Ambushes.

I can deal with multiple enemies in a dungeon, there are ways to crowd control. On the open road, this has proven to be extremely annoying. You can't really use the topography to your advantage, there is always some way to get around you.

Scenario: You've got an archer or a mage whittling you down while two fighters have you pinned. You can't heal in between hits. Each one is matched to you in skills and hit points. Wonderfully your counters and blocks barely save your life. You still have 7 squares of map before you reach town. Ambush #2. You barely made it last time, sorry not this time. I've had 3 ambushes trying to get back to town. At higher levels there's just no surviving what with the skills the enemy gets. Am I supposed to circle town and farm? How is that fun? Most times you can't survive 1 ambush let alone 3. You can't even run, they pursue you as you exit into a new map and get attacks of opportunity if they get too close. At level 5 and beyond it seems like the frequency of these is increased. I can't leave town without multiple ambushes. I don't know what to suggest here, but something needs a fix since this has been so ridiculous.

6. Repairs.

Can you max-out the repair cost of an item to like a smaller percent or something? I keep a spare weapon (which takes the already limited inventory space) just to bash boxes and doors, but the repair costs on my main weapon (and armor) still seem to be pretty high. Is the smith just knocking out some dents and dings or building me a new sword every time? Seems some weapons/armor are more effected than others.

7. Quick-travel.

Some hit games, like Skyrim, all understand the importance of quick-travel. Sure we have to travel to the point of interest the first time, but return visits allow us to bypass the boring LONG trek to return.

Example: I detest travelling 7 map squares to get to a battle scene, 7 map squares to get back to town all to sell 5 peasant flails for 18 gold each just to get enough crowns to replace the food I consumed during the whole thing... not fun. The game will very quickly become too much of a toil to play.

8. Lack of ability to save progress will kill motivation to play.

This sounds like #1 but I'm actually speaking my opinion of some mental effects here. Some of these dungeons are way out there on the map.

Scenario: You fight in a dungeon and get some great loot. You decide to head back to town and cash in before you stretch yourself too thin. You get ambushed, ambushed and finally die. You lose everything. You make the long trek to raid again. Get ambushed , ambushed and die again. You try a 3rd time with the same result. You've wasted 4 hours with absolutely NOTHING to show for it. Tell me, how long until I walk away from the game and give a bad review? Will I buy a game from this producer again? This is just me exploring how a frustrated mind may logically play this thing out, I don't mean this is what I am going to do, I just want to avoid this situation.

9. World map and local map.

Just a suggestion, would be nice to have a map of location you are in to quickly find people/stores/points of interest. Not a necessity just a nice perk.

My final words: You've done a wonderful job with the game so far. The fights are engaging, the artwork is nostalgic of another time and very appealing, the main story line is interesting, the skill system is diverse, the food/drink/heal system is complex in an entertaining way. I think with the content you intend to add and taking into consideration the feedback from your customers, you have a winner here. Please just fix some of the super annoying stuff!!! Anyone else, please feel free to contribute suggestions I may have missed.
Thank you!

Trying to answer as much as I can from what I know or deduct.

1. You can save in more than one location. One you might have guessed: Manshire, the settlement in the lower right corner of the map. You can also save at any liberated bandit camp (those hidden behind most of the POI). Given that you can check the map when you start a new "Adventure" I'd make sure that there are several "?" in the center.

4. There is a caravan system planned but it's set to arrive sometime in "2020-2021".
[EDIT] There is backpack for you to find behind one of the POI which gives you additional storage - 4x5 spaces I think.

6. The reason for the high repair cost is given in the game. If you ask any of the two blacksmiths whether they buy your old equipment they assure you to pay good money if it's in pristine condition but they don't want your broken down junk cause it would take more effort to restore it than making a new one. *wink wink*

There was a Roadmap released with the Trollslayer update. Maybe "Global Map Mode" covers what you suggest in your 9th point.

Also about the ambush...
Yes, ambushes are a pretty bad dealbreaker and mostly a surely death if you're somewhat low leveled. And even with higher level they need your concentration.
Once, I finished a dungeon, was happy and motivated to get home, and got butchered by a pair of wolves.
At another time, I was ambushed from 3-4 directions, after I cleared another dungeon, and got killed fast.

However, there is a pretty save way to travel over the map.
Simply Keep at the edge of a map. You still might get ambushed, but you can quick escape it this way.
