I have found a bug with Wahooka in GOG's version of Stonekeep.

He doesn't appear in the location of the sewers where he should and if you are coming from the southern portion of the sewers, and pass through the square where Wahooka is supposed to apprear, you can't go back; which means you have to go up the stairs located just a little furthur up the walkway and go all the way through the lower level of Stonekeep to the first set of stairs leading back down into the sewers. Wahooka is supposed to appear in the sewers and ask you to bring him 3 skulls in exchange for a triangle key that opens up a chest containing The Shrink Rune which is needed way later in the game to shrink one of the Orbs which is really large down to size so you can carry it with you. I looked through my Stonekeep Cluebook and found that The Shrink Rune can be found in other locations of the game thank goodness or the game would be busted.

I was wondering if anyone else has come accross this problem in GOG's version of the game and if so is there a solution? I've purchased the CD version before from someone on Amazon and didn't have any problems like this running it under DOSBox. I've decided that since this problem can be worked around that I am going to continue playing GOG's version of the game but if I keep running into stuff like this, I will stop and quit using GOG to play games like this.

Wahooka showed up in the sewers just fine for me when I played GOG's version. To my knowledge, though, all the versions of the game can display issues with Wahooka appearing; usually it's related to his appearances in the second level when he asks for gems. There's some discussion of the problems with Wahooka appearing here:

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/stonekeep/wahooka_i_hear_him_but_i_dont_see_him

They also mention that it's possible to miss him in the sewers if you somehow don't step on his square... I believe this is true of all versions of Stonekeep but I'm not certain.
After doing a little research on the Wahooka issues, I've come to the conclusion that Wahooka bugs are random code errors that happen in all games, not just Stonekeep. I am a big Oblivion fan and believe me that game takes the cake on bugs and errors. I once walked past a horse stable and there litterally was a horse floating about 5 - 6 feet in the air with his front legs sticking up towards the sky. I just had to laugh about that one. Anyways what I am trying to say is that no video game is perfect. Every game I have played has had a glitch or two or 10. I've decided to start Stonekeep over again to see if I get any Wahooka glitches on a second time through. I have a very old copy of the Stonekeep Strategy Guide that is in near perfect condition that I found on Amazon and I am going to follow it a little more closely instead of diving in and taking my chances. I am playing Stonekeep again because I remember how much fun I had with it back in 1995 and you can't download a legal, free copy of it anywhere just yet. GOG had the best deal and there was no shipping or handling or dealing with a disc so I ordered it from them. Anyways keep the comments coming. I like getting feedback on things I post. ~ Chris McCallum

You have to meet Wahooka in sewers when the water is present. Without water he doesn't appear.
