9/2/08 >>>In one of the many "Help" forums like this one at GoG, I read that Khull-Khum could be killed rather than trapped using the 4 Silver Objects. For example, one item mentioned was to use the Shortbow and Slayer Arrows. Tonite in my 4th play-through of the game, I created a Save Game slot titled "Try to Kill the SOB." I used the runecasters and Orbs to maximize my party's defensive capabilities like Armor, Shield, Strength, Quickness, etc.. After grabbing the last 2 Orbs, I took one swipe at him with the Shadow Sword and then ran like the devil was chasing me. He gave pursuit. I hid in cul-de-sacs to make him come to me. Each time he took a lot of damage, he would teleport away, at which time I did a quick game-save to preserve progress made so far. I died a few times too, but reloaded from the last Save Game slot. As the battle approached a climax, Wahooka and Khull-Khum traded insults and the background music got louder. All of a sudden, he flashed out of existance (much like his teleporting away) and the music volume dropped, changing to a light, lilting melody. Nobody in the party said anything however. I walked all around the Tower area looking for him, but found nothing, including >no Orb< for him. I collected the remaing 3 Silver Items and headed for the Exit to Thera's Temple. After placing the Orbs on their columns, the end-game cut scene began. The only variation in the cut scene was that Thera congratulated Drake for freeing the Gods from their Orbs and >>>for defeating Kull-Khum in battle<<<. The whole process was relatively low-key and, at first, I wasn't sure he was really dead. It is my opinion that the Shadow Sword did the greatest damage to him, and that he teleported away more often as his life force ebbed. The whole battle, from confrontation to his death, took about 10 minutes and was quite a "rush" when it was over.
>>>Now I've got to decide what RPG to buy next from GoG. Decisions, decisions !!
Thanks for the write up, I have not finished the game myself yet but this makes me want to pick it back up and press on with the game.
Thanks for the insight and letting us know about it.

>There is a web-site, GameFAQs.com which has a very useful Stonekeep walkthrough. Most useful locations and items, scrolls, armor, etc., are pinpointed by X-Y-Level coordinates in this guide. X-Y coordinates while playing are selected by pressing SHIFT-F8.
>>On the GameFAQs web-site, select PC Games, then Role Playing Games, then under capital "S," then Stonekeep, then FAQ/Walkthrough by JMeloy.
>>Highlight the Walkthrough file by Edit, then Select All, Copy All and the Save the file as a text (.TXT) file on your computer's hard-drive.
>>You can then open the text file using Microsoft Word or Works and read it off-line for VERY USEFUL hints while you are playing the game.
>>I have not found an easy way to look at the Walkthrough >while< playing. I usually review the particular floor/level (such as the Sewers or Palace of Shadows) before playing. If I need to review the guide while playing, I Save the game, Quit, review the guide, and the re-Load the game and continue playing. There may be a way to minimize the game without Saving/Quitting, to look at the Walkthrogh and then return. If there is a way to minimize, I have not found it.
>>Have fun ! !
>>I am really stupid. Once you have the above walkthrough for Stonekeep as a Word or Works file, just PRINT it out as a hard-copy. You can then read the appropriate section as you play.

Re: reading the walkthough, while playing the game.
Press Alt-Enter to window the game, which frees your cursor. Open your walkthru and/or Stonekeep maps and peruse. You can click on the interior game window to get to your Journal to check /edit your game info, and alt-tab to get back to desktop, and so on.
Sometimes my cursor gets stuck in the game, alt-tab just won't free it, so I Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up Task Mgr, which frees the cursor to desktop, then I close the Task Mgr.
To get back to full-screen, be sure you are in the game window and press alt-enter again, *after* you close all other windows on desktop. If you don't close em all up, sometimes the game just shuts down without your say-so when you try to get back to desktop later to read more walkthru, lol.
Hope this helps. :)
Baryon
Confirmed.
I did this, it's not that hard with a capped character and it certainly doesn't take 10 mins.
Wahooka never said anything different though.
