Hello,
I'm not Stonekeep authority and I always want to know, how do people know about secres very sharp dagger? For me it's to complicated to do it for accident, I never found any clue too. How do you know about it? :)
As far as i remember, the secret was revealed in official (?) game guide. Or something like that. However, I think the dagger of penetration spoils so much fun, that I almost never use it (I activate the secret, but don't use the dagger itself).

Oh, I see.. So it's something like old school easy mode? :)

Yeah, you can find the same dagger later in the game, but it's almost at the end. So if you start with it, there's really no reason to use any other weapon until right at at the end of the game, and that makes it a little boring for me. The early levels are pretty tough without the dagger, but once you pick up some more party members and find some magic things get easier.

I disagree. Everything is pretty easy, except dealing with the two shargas in council room. It's tricky to defeat them without oil bombs or arrows.

I know it's different thing, but sometimes it's cool to know easy way to defeat annoying creatures or hard moments. Like in Fallout 2, when going to the San Francisco just after the start and steal from shops make game way easier :)

But you are right. Now I'm playing with very sharp dagger and can't find challenge in any fight. Easier than my first time with Stonekeep long time ago, and my second time.. :)
