I am having a problem in the pits level. I came to an area with 3 doors. One of which I now know has a key that I need behind it. My problem is that now all 3 of the doors are now locked and did not get the key first.
There is a sign that says "those that are greedy lock all doors" or something to that effect. So I guess you could say I was greedy. Unfortunately I do not have a save game to go back to and resolve this. Is there anyway to open the door to get the key I need or am I just screwed? Or can I just bypass things without having the key?
Thanks, any help is appreciated.

There is nothing you can do so unless someone can give you a save game just before or after this bit you are going to have to start from the beginning. In old games like this its always a good idea to keep multiple save slots and rotate them so you avoid things like this.
Yeah... just from looking around the web I have kinda gathered that much. The last save i have is wayyyy back in the Sharga Mines so I hate to have to go back and start again from there. Is there a way to save games with this DosBox version of the game? My brother plays it on his computer as well and we were unable to find where the save game files are located. There are no .sav files that I no of.
It should be in your stonekeep directory under \savegame\game00 (01,02, etc depending on the save slot. You will want the entire game00 contents.
If your on windows 7 or vista the saves may be located in either C/Users/(Username)/My Documents or C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Virtua lStore\Program Files\GOG.com\

No problem, hopefully it isn't too much of a slog for you to get back to where you were.
Just encountered the same bug as the OP. To make maters worse I have only been using two saves the whole game.
Well...just to start again from the beginning I guess.
Without spoiling to much, is there more gamebraking bugs I should know about?
