I haven't finished Stonekeep yet, but i was wondering about something.
I don't think i was ever more happy to have companions join my party than in this game. I was genuinely glad when i found Farli, Karzak and yes, even Dombur ;)
The same way, i was pretty bummed when my party got disbanded at the Fortress, and i made a first sweep covering every inch of that Fortress totally oblivious to loot and secrets, i just wanted to get my companions back. Farli rejoins the party (YAY!), Dombur doesn't (BOO!), and now i find myself a bit worried about Farli, even more so after finding his note and after Torin explained that Farli was banished. I'm kinda hoping i'll have a chance to help him out, i guess i'll find out soon enough.
Where i'm getting at? Well, as an example, i've got many hours on DAO and the differences, companions wise, between the two games are, well, pretty obvious. So, why is it that to an extent it seems i care more about the little (and mostly silent) fellows travelling Stonekeep with me than about the pretty, talkative, 'deep' companions from DAO ?

They're more talkative when you meet more NPCs (especially in the Faery Realm).

Oh, the 'mostly silent' wasn't a complaint, i like them just fine exactly as they are.
But yeah, i just went to Faerie Realm, which has got to be one of the best levels/maps i've played on any game, and Skuz and Karzak do comment a little more on what's going on, specially Karzak who seems quite upset and embarassed with all the...er...'Faerie' shananigans going on ;)
