I had posted earlier about a problem in Stonekeep, which is very likely to be a bug in the file GROUP16. Has anybody ever noticed this bug?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4w4p7QOc8JY Go to the time of 4:30. The bug is a group of shadow skulls that are south of the red half of the mysterious symbol needed to open the way to Marif's orb. In this part of the video, I walk around the corridor, and at each corner I shoot a black slayer arrow down the hall from far away. Despite the bug, the shadow skulls get hit and are destroyed. It is evident as the black slayer arrows don't hit walls when the enemies get defeated.

Does anybody know of a way to get the sprites of these Shadow Skulls to appear, resulting in the monsters attacking?

Would it be possible for someone to somehow patch the bug I mentioned in the past? Interplay lost the development environment long ago, so the only way to do so is to hack into the data files. I am not capable of doing this. The issue very likely lies with GROUP16 or GROUP82. If someone wants to do this, contact Interplay first. I'd love to see those bugged Shadow Skulls get fought against the normal way.

i started playing again my os is windows 10 64 bit, using the latest dos box version, also downloaded game save editor for the game where i maxed my health, hitpoints, weapons to 255, worked great until in the temple of throggie where you have to grab the orb from the left eye of the god and a weapon of your choice, when i approached the god i hear drake say "well" then it freezes after about 30 seconds i get a black screen with a dos message "error cannot read from file retry y/n" i hit y and nothing, then hit n and back to prompt to exit dos, any ideas?
Replying to my post about the aforementioned Shadow Skulls near the entrance to the Palace of Shadows, I believe that the only way to fix that bug and make them attack Drake and his companions would be to reverse engineer Stonekeep to correct the error with a new patch. I'd definitely apply it if such a patch got made. Interplay lost the development environment for the game and can't fix this bug. When you walk around that looping hallway south of the red half of the yin-yang symbol, you hear the skulls but see nothing and never get attacked. The Floating Skulls south of the blue half of the symbol are fine. Because of this, I always go to the west side first since the first Shadow Skulls are unable to attack. Shooting a black slayer arrow down the corridors where these skulls should be can result in the arrows not hitting the far wall. You can also throw the Magickal Throwing Axe at one of the four corners while turning and if you hit a skull you'll know.

There's also a related bug that causes both Shadow Skulls and Floating Skulls to disappear if you teleport into the four corners of the level. I always go around and eliminate the skulls first to avoid this bug. The only other bug in the Palace of Shadows is regarding the walls that appear when you try to approach the teleporters where the first floating skulls appear... Later on when you come back, they don't make a sound any longer when they appear.

The bug that really needs fixing is the first one I mentioned. It should have been fixed by Interplay a long time ago.
