I love this game! It reminds me of Oblivion and Morrowind a lot, with the 1st-person adventuring. Are there any other games that are like this that you can find on the site or can run on Vista?
Yes, lots of games but none will run native on Vista.
Eye of the Beholder series
Ultima Underworld series
Elder Scrolls series (Arena is freeware from their website)

I really like Stonekeep and I will be playing it for some time. I personally did not care all that much for the Elder Scroll series, but I know I am in the minority.
What is Eye of the Beholder like, as it sounds interesting?
Eye of the beholder is a trilogy based on Dungeons and Dragons
The first game in the series has seen several ports over the years including GameBoy Advance.
It's another pseudo 3d first person dungeon crawl RPG that I could never get very far in without having my party utterly decimated by the first monsters you encounter.
StoneKeep was inspired by Eye of the Beholder the same way that EotB was inspired by Dungeon Master

Arx Fatalis, and to a lesser extent Dark Messiah (both available on Steam). They should fit your needs pretty decently

Somebody posted (I think in General Discussion) a list of links to freely redistributable games - check it for Dungeon Master (or Google Dungeon Master, but be careful of what links you follow...). It's the great-grand-daddy of the genre, and still plays remarkably well, IMO.
I recommend a game called "Anvil of Dawn". Made by New World Computing way back in 1995 or so (same folks that made the Heroes of Might and Magic and Might & Magic games). I think you might score a copy on those abandonware sites like abandonia.com. However that is *not* the CD talkie version which in my opinion is a must. That game is excellent. Heres a link: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/anvil-of-dawn
I second "Anvil of Dawn". It took me a while to remember the name and I submitted it to the GOG wish list. DosBox web site says it runs just fine in DosBox. If you download from abandonware site, make sure not to turn on voice option. It will lock up since I assume it is looking for a voice file that has been removed in the interest of storage space. I think you should be able to find the CDROM version on one of those "evil" sites that shall not be mentioned (since I don't know what GOG's forum policy is on such things).
I third The Anvil of Dawn and I second Arx Fatalis. I also want to mention Ultima Underworld 1 and 2 too, even though they are old.
Thanks for all the suggestions! Don't know why, but I love the first-person style these RPGs have. It plays more intelligently than shooters, while keeping you in the immersion that the view brings to the table.
Ultimate Underworld 1 + 2 are the grandaddys of this type of RPG, and if you can forgive the graphics somewhat, are up there amongst the best.....I'd love to see them on here
I'll be next to put a good word in favor of Anvil of Dawn. Also, Land of Lore (the first one) does looks familiar to Stonekeep, at least for me. All of these mentioned titles are dungeon hacks with simple RPG elements (unlike some boring D&D) and strong story elements. And all of them are very enjoyable.
Yaster - thanks for reminding me about Lands of Lore. I agree with you. I would put that up there with Anvil and the Ultima's!
i would recommend these two:
Mordor: The Depths Of Dejenol and Mordor 2: Darkness Awakening
both of them are great dungeon crawler rpg's
ps. this site: http://mordor.uni.cc/forum/forums.html is currently working on creating a new and improved version on the game Mordor XP: The Demise Of Dejenol, and it is looking great =)

hi all.
I just this week discovered *this* strange looking module!!
http://dungeondoom.planetdoom.gamespy.com/download.htm

Introduction to DungeonDoom
DungeonDoom is a Doom3 modification for Windows, Linux and Macintosh operating systems. DungeonDoom incorporates most key features of roguelike games. In particular, levels are largely composed of mazes, which are generated randomly every time a new game is started. Levels have stairs leading either to higher or lower levels of the dungeon.
The lower the player descends into the dungeon, the stronger the enemies get. Killed enemies drop gold which then can be used by the player in shops to buy weapons and ammo. Much of this functionality is not part of the original Doom3 engine and has been added to DungeonDoom. The modification is highly extensible and the current 8.0 build of DungeonDoom includes an overworld, a storyline, random quests, special level bosses with special abilities, magical spells, an equipment system, character development, player ability system and various playable characters, including a collectible card variant using the 'card master' and a sword- wielding combo performing ninja.

Key Features of DungeonDoom 8.0XP (currently Windows only + expansion set Resurrection of Evil):
a practically endless wilderness with various places to visit, including the City of Asiris, various quest goals and a pyramid (south of the gates to Asiris at the end of the dark path), which serves as an entrance to the Dungeon.
up to 100 randomly generated maze levels with randomly placed monsters. The strength of enemies increases the deeper you descend. Exits are blocked by pentagrams until all enemies have been spawned
Five player classes: Fighter, Psi-Fighter, Supernatural, Cardmaster and Ninja with varying abilities to wield weapons, execute combos, use magical skills and/or use magical card decks.
Three different difficulty settings with variations in light level, trap visibility, enemy toughness and enemy
behavior.
Three different choices for game length - ranging from short 20 level skirmishes to extended 100 levels adventures.
Three different player perspectives: Traditional first- person, overhead third-person and ninja 'follow-camera' modes.
4 adjustable light levels with optional ambient lighting.
16 different magical spells, some with 3 different skill levels.
Ammunition, potions, scrolls, armor and various light sources are available in shops.
Randomly generated magical item to improve your character.
Character development in 6 features: Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, Wisdom, Vitality and Alignment.
Special enemy and boss capabilities, including paralyzing, blinding, poisoning, teleporting, invisibility, spawning, confusion, shields, self-healing, item destruction and special projectiles.
Randomly generated "unique" powerful wizards that can master multiple special abilities.
Enemy AI tweaks including fleeing and flocking capablities.
Traps which cause damage, status effects or level transitions (trapdoors).
Magically summoned pet pinky (credits to tinman).
10 different quests and 1 storyline.
Alignment influences storyline proceeding.
Refreshment fountains to replenish health or mana.
A final enemy, "The Balrog", with unique properties.
Doom3 from id software with patch 1.3 installed
-for XP versions, the Doom3 expansion pack Resurrection of Evil needs to be installed as well
-A computer powerful enough to run retail Doom3 smoothly.

you read this right: a rogue 1st person game using the doom3 engine!!
I have yet to try this, they had doom3 on sale at best buy, then I bought the expansion for about $6 on Amazon.com
also can be played on just doom3 but in lessor detail.
