Hey, I just downloaded Post Mortem from GOG, but when I press launch, it won´t start and there is no problem report.
I have a hp laptop with windows 7 on it. I tried severel compatibility modes like NT 4.0 service pack 5 or XP, with or without 256 colors, with or without visual designs, etc but it´s always the same. When I look in the forums, I find nothing about this kind of problem with this game.

By the way: Still Life also doesn´t start, but there comes the message can´t create renderer.

I have no idea, what I could try next. Can you help me?
Thank you!
Fele

Question:
Which file did you fiddle with, "Post Mortem.exe" or "Game.exe"?

Game.exe would be the one to fiddle with, Setting for all users, XP SP2 Compatibility, no visual designs, 640x480 needs to be unchecked

and dgvoodoo gets the graphics extra crisp

maybe this helps a teensy weensy bit...
I had the same problem and I solved it by turning off compatability mode completely and running the game in 256 colour mode. Basically, uncheck everything in the properties for game.exe apart from reduced colour mode.
None of the above worked for me. I've just copied the necessary files from this link and it worked! I've also disabled all the compatibility things.
Thank you all! I could not get Post Mortem to run after repeated trials. I finally got it to run combining the advice from SpikedSoul and ItsBigIan
