Any word yet on when the offline installer for the Lem update will arrive?

at this point you may as well wait for the ocean dlc to come out as you will only need to redownload at that point anyway
As stated here (external site): https://www.pcgamesn.com/stellaris/dlc-aquatics-species-pack

"There’s no word on a release date for this expansion yet. We know that a new patch is expected in November, and then again in February next year, but where this new DLC will fit in is anyone’s guess right now."

Effectively with "The Custodians" initiative there will be a lot of downloads, considering also patches for new content.

I prefer to have offline installers of every version, but it's becoming a little demanding :)))

(anyway I appreciate "The Custodians" initiative)

maybe but Paradox says a lot of things... usually just before bringing out yet another Dlc

I love strat games but history shows us the pattern is Dlc then patch then Dlc then patch, rinse and repeat until people stop playing

Thanks for that, but I'm not seeing it.

From My (GOG) Account -> Games -> Stellaris -> View Downloads, under "Download offline backup game installers" the latest patch is 3.0.3 (from 3.0.2). Am I missing something, or is there somewhere else I should be downloading this patch from? Gog isn't making it easy to find. Unless there is no patch from 3.0.3 -> 3.1, and Lem requires a completely new install?

Thanks again for your help.

You're very welcome :)

About patches effectively I've noticed - and really don't know why :| - that most recent patches (available online at the time of the complete version files release) have been deleted, maintaining the previous ones (without the others quite needless I suppose).

I don't know, you can try to contact GOG support, or download the complete version of course (I suppose this one is the quickest way).

the current game on Gog is 3.1.2

what you are missing is Gog makes the offline installers [unlike the Galaxy installers] and yes every few releases they dump the old files to make you start again... in order to limit the number of files their server has to track, 5 is the normal max per game

when the water Dlc comes out you can expect to start a new download of Stellaris instead of just grabbing a small patch like the Galaxy users get

it's also worth pointing out again that Gog gives you a paradox key so you can link your Gog buys to Paradox and download their launcher.

the down side to doing that is you have to have a Paradox account [free but also Drm] in order to use the Paradox builds

the up side is you can download any old build of Stellaris... not just the lastest 5 or so like Gog keeps

Thanks for your input. I did try to use the Paradox launcher, but the key that Gog gave me is expired or invalid or some such. So I'm stuck with the offline patches at the moment.
the gog keys should not expire ... you may need to contact support but 1st lets make sure of the steps involved because it is a bit of a mess

1, your Gog key is listed under keys in the game library [see image 1]... this option only shows up in a web broswer not Galaxy and will have about 8-10 digits

this key is a one off i.e, you can only link it to a single Paradox account and they don't allow Dlc until you unlock the base game

2 how to find the correct place can be tricky, so I start by logging into Paradox forum with one of your Paradox accounts, then select the owned games option [see image 2]

3, from the screen that sends you to there is a redeam option which takes you to their store page [see image 3] and this needs you to sign in again so be sure of your user name and password if you have more than one Paradox account

4, from here you can copy paste the key Gog gives you into the box [see image 4]... again you need the base game first before any Dlc

if that fails then contact Gog suport i.e, open a ticket include a sreenshot jpeg of whatever error message Paradox gives you when you try to use the key and let them sort it out
