This pops up when I try (ironically, since it's the first turn, using the restart option means it regens a new galaxy each time):

This is a strange bug. It would be helpful to know more about the situation in which it's occurring. Specifically, did you install the game using GoG Galaxy, or the stand alone installer? Were you connected to the internet while running the game?

I have a candidate fix for this issue (I've made some changes that might avoid the problem entirely, and at a minimum, they should let you skip the warning, if it pops up again). If you're using GoG Galaxy, I can get you the patch quickly via the Galaxy Stars in Shadow Configuration panel. In GoG Galaxy, if you go to Stars in Shadow -> More -> Settings, and change the game's Channel from default to 'Patch Testing', you should get my candidate patch.

Please let me know if it fixes the bug.
I generally run my system with internet disabled, so looks like that was triggering the problem. Once I enabled internet access, it worked.

I then applied your patch and was able to run the game -without- being connected to the internet. :)

Thanks!

Maybe you downloaded the "normal" downloader with gog galaxy included and not the "classic" one? Remember that you can download the no-galaxy installers now only from the drop-down list in your game's library and the other will include always galaxy :S

Also, look for the name of the installer. If it has a "g" or "_g" or even "(g)" in its name, then it's the galaxy version.

It's a shame we should be talking this between community members and not have a clear communication from GOG, btw.
I actually install the games via galaxy and then turn off internet. This is the first game I've had where that triggered an issue.
Glad you got your game working, enjoy!
