Hi captains,

after a few questions I asked devs on modding support for GoG version and here is what I found out:

The way mods work within the game is exactly the same in any version. Since Steam was the first to arrive, and it has the Workshop, Steam users have it easier since the Stema client does the download of the mods into appropriate folder. Only this step has to be done manually. When you find a mod (*.sgm file extension), simply copy the file into GameRoot\Mods folder. Then from within the game, access the Mods section, select a mod on the list and click INSTALL. After that, tick the little checkbox beside the mod name in the list and RESTART THE GAME to make sure everything loads in as it should.

Sharing of mods, unfortunately is not done in any way by LGM. We simply lack the server infrastructure for that. That is left to the community. Steam version uses Steam Workshop servers. Other sites will have to be used to share mods for other game versions like GoG.

Hi fellow captains,

After a few people asked for it, I downloaded most popular mods and added them to my google drive so you can download and enjoy them. After you download rar file, just unrar it in Mods folder inside your Starpoint Gemini 2 folder. Every mod should have a folder along with .sgs and .txt file. If something is missing, it's my fault, just tell me and I'll reupload it.

Link is here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_tUx4Ro9l7DMDg5V19YSlBFQ00&usp=sharing

Mods that are on this link are:

1. ArtificialVoiceModule - Complete pack of alternate ship computer voice
2. BigFontsMod - Bigger fonts in game
3. Bigger_Punch_Mod - Tweak for weapons, makes the game harder but more dynamic as well.
4. CinematicSkyboxFlares - Cosmetic tweak - Replaces all 8 ambient skybox profiles used between the 340 different sectors.
5. FederationFleet - Famous Star Trek Federation ships which you can purchase on Vigo Station.
6. Frienemies - Changes your reputation so that the Directorate and Empire are now friendly. Works only in freeroam mode.
7. HUD-FIX-5760x1080 - Implements HUD fix for 5760x1080 and 5760x1200 resolutions
8. MinimalHUD - Replaces default HUD with more futuristic and modern HUD
9. More_Banners - Adds more banners for customizing your ship
10. NebulaeAndRiftwaysRemoved - Removes all riftways and nebulas for increased performance
11. Piracy - Starts a new game on another part of Gemini on an Anarchy base. You have -1750 reputation and very few bases to dock on.
12. RedMantis - Super Bad Azz God Red Bug Looking Ship you can purchase on planet Trinity
13. RemovedRiftways - For people who don't like to be sucked in and find them annoying. :)
14. RogueShadow - discontinued
15. SyntheticBridgeVoices - Voice pack for more computerish ship computer voice.
16. TNGAmbience - Feel your engine burst to life on PTE engage, then listen to the soothing hum of the Enterprise from ST: TNG.
17. TNGComputer - Completely overhauls the computer voiceover system in SPG2, to a classy fusion of Star Trek and default voice
18. TriadLife - A pirate scenario starting in the triad zone with a rep of -100. Starts a new game.
19. VigoMart - Many new ships and equipment for purchase on Vigo Station. Incompatible with FederationFleet mod.

Kudos to all of our phenomenal modders who are constantly helping to make this game better for all of us!!!

Also if you want all of the above mentioned mods in one rar file (370MB) to save you some time, click here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_tUx4Ro9l7DLUphSW5rbXkxc3c/view?usp=sharing

That's it for now. Enjoy it and I will add new mods as they come. Not all of them, but the ones that are clearly popular and if you find something on Steam workshop that you would like and it's not here, just tell me and I'll upload it for you.

Fly safe captains. :)

Thanks for posting the mods for us. I downloaded the pack tonight.

Took me awhile to see how to download them. the download arrow does not show up till I pint the mouse att he top of the page then the download arrow shows.

Is the FederationFleet.rar the star trek mod I have seen on youtube? Really keen to try than one but I better learn the vanilla game first. Looks like plenty of mods to try.

Really appreciate you posting these for us till somewhere like ModDB gets them for non steam users.

If you can keep us GoG users in mod updates I am sure the community here will be very greatfull.

Regards MarkL
THank you for doing this.
@marklaur:

Federation Fleet mod gives you access to Defiant, Intrepid, Akira, Galaxy and Sovereign classes from Star Trek.
The ships become available on spacestation Vigo right next to that first planet Trinity.

Here is my screenshot of the Voyager at full PTE speed:

Along with Beam weapons and some other Star Trek mods, this give a pretty immersive experience. :)

@Artophwar:

Anytime. :) Fly safe and drink responsibly. :D

Does anyone know of a way to download mods from the workshop without owning the game on steam?
I remember reading something about it for Skyrim and Shadowrun, but I can't find it anymore.

Anyway, great job zzokalj, this is great :)
I don't think so, I think if the modder or developer don't host it on their dedicated sitzes, there is no other way but this one that I did. If you own a game on Steam, download all the mods, rar them and upload them somewhere where the community members could download them. :-/
Thanks to the following thread from the Shadowrunners here at GOG.com:
http://www.gog.com/forum/shadowrun_series/how_to_get_steam_workshop_mods_without_using_steam
you can have an alternative way to download mods for Starpoint Gemini 2 (or any other game) using the Steam Workshop.

I tried it with Starpoint Gemini 2 mods from Steam Workshop and it works as well. Simply browse the Steam Workshop for mods (http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=236150) and when you find a mod that interests you, copy the site-link into the address field (http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/) so it will show you a download button. Copy the downloaded file to Starpoint's mod folder and easy as that you can use any mod you want from the Steam Workshop.

Seems you only get a *.sgm file this way though, dunno if other files are needed as well.

That is just extremely cool, thank you. I hadn't heard of this title until it showed up in this week's special deal, but picked it up right away (along with the 'beginners guide' videos you linked to in another thread). I enjoyed the Starfleet Command games, but this looks like a much more satisfying experience. Very much looking forward to spending some time with it this weekend!
Well some inspiration for this game came from Starfleet Command, Freelancer. All devs in the team (about 10 of us) are big fans of those titles. :)

Any chance to get the updates for any of these mods posted?

Thank You
Since I'm doing that one by one, tell me which ones you would like and I will download new versions and put it up. :)
