I have tried using the Remember command which does nothing. I have tried to copy a valid save point into two different directories at two different save points. I then tried to copy the first savepoint back into the Play folder, when i restarted the game, it loaded at the second save point. I am not seeing any error messages while copying, although I am also not seeing newer timestamps on my save files. What am I doing wrong, I don't think I can make it through the game without being killed and even if I could, the game still froze on we while disembarking on a planet.
(I figured this out on my own. I thought that I had moved the starflight folder to my desktop and in reality made a copy. When I backed up my save file in that directory, it was the original save. Meanwhile the program icon on my desktop referred to the original directory and would change the save states in that directory.)

I've successfully copied the starflt folder, place it in another folder and rename it. I've been using starflltbck1,2 etc... If you need to reload from the backed up file move the file back into the original location, delete the original starflt file and re-rename the starfltbck file starflt. then restart
