Hello,

I bought this game for my wife, not knowing what the controls were like. She doesn't like the keyboard and would rather play with a controller. I did some research and it seems that you can (on STEAM?), but I haven't seen any topics here on GOG that talk about it.
Not sure if the game supports directinput controllers, but I played with my Xbox360 controller. It works fine, but there are some bugs with it. The right stick controls the cursor, except when it's hidden, but sometimes the cursor just appears or maybe it doesn't but you end up pulling up plants you don't mean to, sometimes half the screen away where you shouldn't be able to pull up plants. My description is confusing because that's how I felt playing with the controller. The game conditioned me to wiggle the stick when I suspect the cursor would try some funny business so the cursor would appear and I could see what it might try to do. Anyway, I still preferred to play with the controller. For everything else, controller use is just fine. I haven't actually played 1.1, but I don't see many changes/fixes for controllers in the changelog, but there are controller related stuff for the upcoming 1.2. Maybe it will fix this bug also.
I am using a ps4 controller to play Stardew Valley on my pc after using the keyboard and mouse for a while. I followed the instructions from a youtube video to set up the controller. I can't post any links, but try searching for "How to use PS4 controller in Stardew Valley [EASY]" on youtube. The instructions may be for a ps4 controller, but I am pretty sure they can be adapted for another type of controller.
