if I am not mistaken, I heard allegedly stardeus is now published by paradox arc?
Don't take my word for anything in this thread. Do your own research. If the game makes you happy, that makes me happy!
I don't say anything bad about paradox interactive, or anyone or anything related to paradox.
I don't say anything bad about stardeus or the developer(s) of stardeus.
I don't say anything bad about the fans and customers of stardeus/stardeus dev(s)
This is all strictly subjective opinions.
I'm just sharing that in my opinion I just feel that stardeus isn't right for me.

I waited so long for stardeus. so so so very very long. I thought it was supposed to come out in september, but then I heard rumors of delays, people saying "they needed to find a publisher" I thought "this is strange, a publisher?" "It's gonna be on gog and steam so who cares?" "The game exists, publish what even?" "Wasn't this an independent project if I'm not mistaken?"

I had no idea what it all could mean or if it was even real so I just forgot about it until now, October 11th 2022.

So I watch a video on youtube just a moment ago, and I heard paradox mentioned. In my opinion, I just don't like how paradox does things. I have nothing against them, I just simply don't vibe with their vibe. basically I'm just not gonna buy the game anymore. I just honestly sincerely realized it's just simply not for me.

I wish the best to the fans and devs of the game, as well as paradox.

Not to say anything negative, but you didn't share any of your opinions.

Everything you said essentially is "Paradox? Not playing this game." Which isn't an opinion. It's simply a statement from you.
You'd have to elaborate on "Why" you do not like the publisher to call your post to be called sharing your opinion.

Personally, Paradox is quite scummy in its ways. It adores the DLC function like an addict and generally ignores their own player-base to be little money-grubbers. If they actually put the work to justify the DLC it would be a different matter, but all one has to do is look at CK3 to see they've fallen short.

That said, Paradox is the Publisher. I've worked with 2 publishers, and they are restricted by what they can and cannot do to a game developer. (Even a 1-man operation like Stardeus)

If we use Stardeus as an example, Paradox is only the publisher, so it isn't completely horrible. They only have a say in marketing for the most part. They have little say in regards to the development, though that depends on the devs themselves and how much they want to let the publisher interfere. (They can't force the developer to introduce microtransactions, for example)

Judging by the Developer's Stream I saw, Paradox seems to have given him some very strict restrictions, as he wasn't allowed to tell anyone what the price was until the game released. In the Stream, anyone could see that it didn't sit well with him to have to stay mum on that.
With good reason as the game is $29.99 on release, and for an EA game at that. Unfortunately the Publisher gets to set the price tag, and it shows. At best, the price for the game should be around $20 or $25 for EA. Especially since the game was "Kickstarted", so at least a good chunk of it was already paid for.

So while Paradox controls the price, the marketing, etc. They cannot force the developer to introduce anything he doesn't want to add into the game. Granted, whatever contract he signed may have some stipulation in regards to DLC, but we'll never read it to check.

But as long as their contract doesn't say anything specific in regards to anything. The Developer is free to do as he wishes. A Developer has more freedom as an indie developer than a "in-house" development team. The Publisher can suggest anything it wants, but the developer has the power of going "No, I don't want to add that in." without any retaliation beyond that they may not publish another game from him again.

They won't damage game sales either given it would work against them.

Long story, short or TLDR: ^ That's how you bring up your opinion. Not by going "Ew Paradox, Not buying the game."

With sincere curiosity I ask you- in your honest sincere opinion do you really believe that it is necessary for me to elaborate further than to say?:
