Who is the main character? Do you just get to name him? Or can you choose stuff like MCs gender and icon picture thing?

hm, i was not able to select a character
just to choose a name and perk
the main character is male and does not look like any of the 2 mans on the cover of the game
but i just played the first 3 missions though, i just have my main character and a char named "Ace". i assume that you will get more chars when you advance in the storyline.
