This "cheat" is pretty fun.

In the original 1993 X-Wing game, there was a file topace.plt This was another pilot files like yours except it had all the missions unlocked in the historical mission simulator, had the rank of general and like all other pilots you had, it could be assigned as your wingman and your wingman would be awesome.

The 1998 version of the game does not have the topace.plt file. However if you install the 1993 game and then you can get the topace.plt and the topace4.plt. Just copy and paste the files into your 1998 game folder and bam! now you have awesome wingmen. Just be sure to keep a copy of them somewhere beause they can die on missions. If they do just recopy them. Name them after friends even! haha.

Enjoy!!

The CD-ROM Edition from 1994 also has a Topace5.plt.

But be advised that in order to use your DOS-Pilots with the Win95 version, you'll have to convert them using the X-Wing Pilot Converter by Neill Magill.

Lots of tools there, but they do not work on 64 bit. =(

I did not have to. I just copied and pasted from the 1993 file and it worked just fine in the 1998 version

the campaigns get totally messed up when you just copy the file.
