Have X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter installed and all work fine. X-Wing Alliance installed ok (I think) but when I go to play it does nothing? Anyone else have this problem?
Same problem here. Neither the shortcut nor Alliance.exe works.

XWINGALLIANCE.EXE seems to do it, but no launcher
Fixed it.

Uninstall, then reinstall with the default installation folder name "Star Wars - X-Wing Alliance". I renamed it to "X-Wing Alliance", which doesn't seem to work.

Thanks. That seemed to do the trick.
I only have X-Wing as well, but X-Wing Alliance won't start. It gets to the launcher, but when I press "play", it won't start. It installed right but it just doesn't work. Do I need the other games to do this one or what? I also tried to reinstall this game but it wouldn't work.

Same for me. Impossible to start x wing allaince. Tested witch administrator and all mode. The launcher start but not the game....

-- Fixed by installing the game with the install setup of the site and not by galaxy download.

Thx

I may have found a fix to this problem most folks are having on Windows 10.

I bought the game on Steam, downloaded the Darksaber Ultimate Craft Pack (the latest version) and basically patched it (with the official 2.02 patch) to upgrade XWA with the Pack. After that I noticed that I kept getting an error every single time I ran xwingalliance.exe. The error message read "Failed to detect X-wing Alliance CD 0xc0000022" and knew there was a solution as this never happened before.

Turns out there is an option called DIRECT PLAY which is a Windows Feature that needs to be enabled in order to run the game. You can find and enable it by going into Control Panel and on the TOP LEFT corner of the screen you'll see "Turn Windows Features on/off". Find Legacy Components or something to that effect, enable everything in the subcategories and restart your machine.

And voila! X-Wing Alliance works like a charm!
