I used to have x-wing alliance installed on my old althon dual core processor and had to use the runfirst trick to get it to stop stuttering in cutscenes. I just installed the GOG version, had stuttering problems, tried using runfirst, still stuttering problems, went to check affinity manually... only box checked was core 0. So just for a lark I checked "all", and tried to start a cutscene and it ran PERFECTLY. After some experimenting i've learned that for some reason x-wing alliance wants me to run it with at least 4 cores running, or it'll stutter. I'm confused.

Windows 7 pro 64 bit
AMD 8 core processor
The speed of the processor has to be 1.8 GHz.

all 8 of my cores are running at 4ghz, shouldn't have any problem.
Could it be that core 0 was already at full capacity?
