Has anyone figured out how to select both weapon salvos on the Missle boat in skirmish mode? Either by hack, or mod? Or am I just blind and missing something? I remember this issue dates back to the CD-ROM version...

IIRC, you can't link all four missile banks on the Missile Boat. And you can only change warheads for one pair of missile banks before starting the mission The MIS is also missing the SLAM system for some reason.

It is worth mentioning that XvT retained the SLAM system and that modders have put it onto their Missile Boats.

That's correct, and what I was trying to say. I should have said select payload for both salvos. As in I pick heavy rockets and advanced missiles. Right now you can select what you want, but only for one salvo meaning no matter what you're stuck with standard missiles in one salvo.

Has anyone found a way to select for both salvos?
***Bump***. Anyone?

As far as I know there is no SLAM function in XVT since the missile boat is not a vanilla ship in XVT, and thus there is no key bound or programmed for it. If you can tell me you are getting this working, I would really like to see how you did this (in a youtube movie for instance)

Sorry, 3 years later in replying... I'm asking in X-wing Alliance , not XVT.

No. This is based on a 90's game which the original had so many programing holes that it wasn't funny. Sadly you've got too many stupid pilots that would unload all their proton torpedoes against an unarmed supply ship and then STUPIDLY commit a suicide attack against a frigate w/out ever firing their torpedoes for absolutely no good reason. This is the level of stupidity we're dealing with when it comes to game developers.

Likewise you cannot load more than one kind of torpedo/missile ammo. Believe me that I would love nothing more than to modify ships in some realistic way, like equipping an ion cannon to an X-wing or A-wing... but stupid or short-sighted developers never thought to allow the game to expand beyond a certain point. You'd have to know the game's code and actively modify it.

Why?
The X-wing doesn't have ion cannons in either the old or the new canon, same for the A-wing.
It's almost like the developers while tweaking things for gameplay reasons tried to stay as respectful as they could to the source material.

I know the game won't let you do this. I'm hoping someone has a mod/hack (or could make one) to allow the ability to select both salvos.
