Yes, XWA has a multiplayer-mode. When you go to the simulator room, click on the pods arranged next to each other in oder to play via LAN.
In order to play online, you'll need to install a client called "GameRanger".

Playing the campaign-missions in co-op mode is a bit tricky but possible:
