I get all the way up to being in the hanger on the first mission, then as I am about to leave hanger it freezes anywhere
from 5-15 seconds then works again. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix?

Also any way to fix cutscene video delay?

Note: after the freeze the game works just fine with no other issues so far.

Same here, it freezes when you're in the hangAr menu, then, after a while, continues. Win 8.1 64bit. GTX670 card.

I think I solved the freeze!

I ran a script called run first which will force the game to run on a single core. This fixed it for me.

1. execute Run First
2. execute xwingalliance.exe from the folder you installed the game in.

I'm also imapcted:

This workaround does not work in my case.

:(
I had initially the same problem, but setting the alliance.exe to XP SP 2 compatibility mode seemed to fix the problem. At least I could launch happily from the hangar and no more freezing after few seconds.

Edit: Yep, compatibility mode seems to do the trick. I just played the first mission through and everything worked just fine. With XWA hack 1920x1080 widescreen works just beautifully and this is just one amazing game. Looks really good!
