Hi - I'm having awful trouble with XWA multiplayer

The latency is terrible, and lag horrific. Constant interruptions for 'communication' or 'lost connection'.

Anyone know any ways to optimise performance in multiplayer?

Are you using Gameranger? If so, I read this here:

Important note:

When hosting a multiplayer game via GameRanger, you must go to the settings and set the option "playing over the internet" to "no".
If it is set to "yes", lots of lagging can occur during missions.
