Hello,

I've just installed the X-Wing 1994 CD version, which took 2 tries and more than 1 hour (for the successful installation alone, that is). I had to abort the first try, because the installer had some problem with renaming some files.

However the actual problem I encountered is that the program is extremely slow - to the point of crashing.

Just after creating my pilot file, I clicked on the merits part, and opening the extra box took very long. I then entered the docks (or whatever, from which you access the missions). Again I had to wait several seconds; and I mean something like 20 to 30, and I consider this way too long for such a good old game, even when taking dosbox into account.

Then I wanted to check the tour of duties: I waited for a few minutes and then decided to close the program using the Windows task manager (which reported the game was not responding).

Has anyone experienced this kind of problem and found a solution?

Ok, it looks like everything is running fine now. My PC obviously had a bad day yesterday, even with several reboots.
Well, sorry for having disturbed the forums.

It was probably windows update if you were on windows, the thing tends to slow everything down to a crawl on some systems.
That, or my antivirus. Task manager showed it was using a lot of my resources, even though it was not visibly doing anything. Whatever.

Next time I'll just wait a day and test again before posting a problem...

Thanks!
