If this was asked, sorry for a repost. Does anyone know if there are any mods out there to improve graphics? I understand that is a challenge given the game's age, but I thought I would ask. I was hopeful when Disney purchased Star Wars, they would re-release the game with updated graphics for today's machines.

For starters, there's X-Wing Alliance Upgrade (XWA Upgrade) that makes the game look very beautiful even by modern standards, in my opinion, at least it pushes the game engine to its limits as much as possible: http://xwaupgrade.com

There's aso Darksaber's Ultimate Craft Pack (DSUCP) for X-Wing Alliance which is largely similar to the XWAUP pack in what it's trying to achieve but has some notable differences, such as the ability to use an Imperial concourse: http://darksaber.xwaupgrade.com/craftspackucp.html

There's a somewhat similar project called XVTUP that is used to improve the quality of ingame models for X-Wing VS TIE Fighter: Balance of Power and can possibly be also made to work with the 1998 re-release versions of X-Wing and TIE Fighter since they share the game engine:

Some additional OPT model packs for X-Wing VS TIE Fighter and Balance of Power (XvT/BoP) can be found here:

Hope this helps!
