I'm using a tflight hotas x and it gets detected but the throttle section doesn't. It does however work in the 98 version. Is there no way to get it to work in the 94 version?

Not fully. Back then joysticks didn't have throttles. But you can assign the throttle to the keyboard throttle keys to get something that sort of works. Check out this video for details:

Yeah I probably should have looked further down and I would have noticed that thread, thanks. I didn't know about the ctrl+f1 button mapping so at least I'm able to get some use out of the rest of my throttle buttons.
