Unless I missed something, there seems to be no "options" in the menu system of this game. Can anything of this sort be done?

Not to my knowledge.Seems kind of strange now when I think about it, but back in the day I just learned the keys as they were presented and didn't even consider changing them.

But anyway, I don't think there is a way to remap the key commands.

I don't think so... however, since the 93 version is the DOS one, you can take advantage of the integrated mapper supplied by DOSBOX (CTRL+F1)
It's not exactly user friendly, but once you figure out how it works, it's quite powerful
