Hi All,

I'm hoping that at least somebody might have the answer to this one, like alot of you I have had alot of trouble getting this game to run, here are my symptoms and what ive tried so far.

Symptoms

Tiestart operates fine, launcher menu is displayed, however clicking on start causes it to hang, the mouse to be restricted to a 640x480 piece of screen real estate showing that it indeed initialised only to be met with a message the game could not start, check support.

Unsuccessful Solutions

1) compatibility mode in any kind is not successful.
2) Joystick is plugged in and correctly configured, removing joystick presents the joystick not connected error
3) right clicked to launch compatibility trouble shooter.
4) graphic configurations within the start menu.

If anybody including those from GOG can suggest anything to resolve this I would be greatly appreciative.
I had the same issue. Download this unofficial compatibility patch and see if it helps. It fixed my issues.

I am having the same problem as the op.

Is there a folder i need to install the patch in? The game is not starting for me at all, and i am not sure if its because i need the patch, or if its because i do not have a joystick.
You can extract the patch file anywhere, and may delete it after running it.

Also note that there's a more recent version of the TIE Fighter compatibility patch:

I was able to use this to successfully run in hardware 3D mode (i7 2600 CPU, GeForce GTX780 GPU, Windows 7 x64).

Thanks for sharing that! I'll have to update my patch database.
