I can get into the game fine, but when I click to start the game from the in game menu there is an issue. The game instantly freezes. I can't alt tab or alt f4. Ctrl alt del is the only thing that works. After I stop the program from the program manager, the game won't start again until I restart the computer. When I do restart, I get the same freeze.

My specs:
Intel Core i7 - 2600k
8 gig ram
GeForce GTX 760 (DSR disabled for gog games) with latest drivers
W7 64bit - completely updated

I've attached a screen shot of the crash error I get. I get nothing on the freeze. I've tried giving it a few minutes to see if it is just a hiccup, it remains frozen. Program manager shows the program still running, with no 'not responding' happening.

Did you ever find a fix for your problem? I just got the game today and I have the same error, but my game doesn't get to the Main Intro or even the Main Menu it just crashes, go back to the desktop and pops up that same error.

My System:
Core 2 Duo P8800 @ 2.66GHz
8GB of RAM
Nvidia Geforce 9600M GT (Latest Drivers Installed)
Windows 7 64Bit (Up to date)

I have a similar set up so I think I will be avoiding this. REALLY Really want this game but the fact I can get stung or looks like by the reviews, Im just gambling with my money.

Bingo, guess who else unwittingly gambled and has the same problems mentioned above?
Same here, wish there was a fix that worked. I've tried Compatibility changes, UniWS, DSR. Nothing seesm to change the issue.

EDIT:

I found another post about playing on Windows 10 where someone mentioned not using the Galaxy Client. Uninstalled and did a manual install from the website and it works.

If You're using a 64 bit OS. Don't change the default install path. Install it to C:\GOG Games. Never in an area like Program files(x86) or other (x86) files, etc. The game will not work right. Had a similar issue and it came down to the install directory for this game.

Check my post about how customer service helped me get the game running. And provided a host of other fixes that might just help.

Hope you can get the game going!
