After I crash the Rebel scum in a space battle (or Imperials, for that matter), the game crashes! I've heard it's because I have Windows 7. Any solutions? Thanks.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate Edition and have never had a crash after days of playing it. Did you install it to Program Files X86? I didn't. Maybe VAC is causing the crash.

VAC is Valves anti-cheat, do you mean UAC, either way it's not that, it's luck of the draw, some crash, some don't.

Yeah UAC. Don't know why I said VAC :P
Battle crashes happen from time to time. I found reloading a save game every so often (half hour or so) helps alleviate most crashes. They do still happen though.

If you find a battle keeps crashing on you, try choosing a different battle option (i.e. if you previously chose to "skip" the battle, choose to "take command" instead).
Crashes tend to happen more frequently when larger fleets are involved or when you have lots of battles in short amount of time. It becomes more and more frequent as the game progresses.
Had 1 crash in several hours of play. Reloading a savegame fixed the issue.

+1 Mine does it every time though.

I am seeing this as well. Both during battles and then sometimes, just randomly after a few hours of playing. It's pretty frustrating because at that point, you can't save so all the progress you just made is wasted.

Well Its Friday night and time to bash on Microsoft again. I have looked into this issue for more than years now, and it has to do with windows systray assigning priority Post XP processes over those being run in compatibility mode. try installing MS VM and reinstalling I read a post before that stated it fixed the issue. We can all use a little MS bashing once in a while right:)
The only solution is to use the US version of Rebellion 1.00. I don't see why gog doesn't sell that one.
Same issue here, too. Support wasn't helpful at all also and suggested it had to do with my pc (tested on 3 different PCs and notebooks now, Windows 7 and Windows 10, all the same issue)

Too bad I erased the version I had installed before the gog one, which worked just fine (but cannot re-install that one due to CD reasons)

Fix it, gog. Because it CAN work, it's just your version that does not
Just got my copy, and I face the same issue. I hear ver 1.00 does not have these issues, and that 1.01 (which is what GOG ships) only makes multiplayer games compatible between EU & US.

As I am not interested in multiplayer - I would really need ver 1.00 so I can continue walking down memory lane without further frustration.

A lot of things actually - but in this case - lack of free time, and inability to keep to a schedule.

Out of curiosity, does the game crash when you guys are playing multiplayer matches?
