Does anyone know how to play the game to widescreen. It comes up in "boxstyle" for me. Thanks.

I did but I wanted to know if there was an in game fix ot maybe thru properties....Best I could do was get the screen to reach top to bottom but not side to side. Would rather not have to load any patches if I can help it....

Flawless widescreen isnt a patch so much as a workaround for dozens of games.
If it helps, this is what it says about KOTOR:
"KOTOR was designed for specific resolutions eg. 800x600 - 1600x1200, when attempting to modify it for higher resolutions or even widescreen resolutions many problems are introduced.

This fix injects a custom C++ DLL that dynamically creates new GUI files based on the active display resolution and new TGA background art, additionally it fixes the cutscene black bars and missing text on some resolutions, it's not perfect but it's a start.

NOTE: You must start KOTOR and exit atleast once before this fix will properly be active, this is because custom files generated need to be detected by KOTOR before it starts, additionally graphics backgrounds and GUI files will not be generated unless you change the resolution "

and to top that off it stabilised the game a helluva lot!

I had it running at 1366x768 and only suffered one or two crashes (one caused by my antivirus starting a scan), and one or two "black screen after cutscene" issues (which otherwise are far too common).
I tried to use the flawless widescreen app. While it first did work for me and upped the resolution to 1920x1080, now for some reason it doesn't work anymore and the game either crashes or starts without the fix even though the app is still running in the background.

For this reason, I'm wondering if there is a fix for widescreen which doesn't require any applications and such.
You can also try using UniWS with HUDfixes from WSGF:

UniWS does not yet support the GOG exe.

I know, I hope they update it. I really don't like having a program running in the background.

It was the first thing I tried once I installed the game.

EDIT: So, apparently, UniWS doesn't support the new GOG exe. That may actually be good news, as in the companies involved have access to it and are changing things.

UniWS doesn't support the new exe because GOG modified the exe, probably to fix the multi-core processor issue. Likely has nothing to do with companies involved updating their own games for widescreen support.

Nah, setting affinity is a matter of flipping a couple of bits. It doesn't change the length of the file and, by extension, addresses for the resolution bits. Whatever GOG/Disney/LucasArts did, it was from the source code. For all we know, this could be the same version as on Steam, sans the CEG encryption, with some compatibility tweaks by GOG.
