I'm really not sure if I will continue the game. Rigth now I've reached the surface of Telos and I am really annoyed. First of all by now I'm a level 12 Jedi and I still don't have a lightsaber. Wtf? Then all I have done so far is searching for my bloody spaceship. I still don't know what I am doing and why. Does the real story start anytime soon or is there a lot more of this prelude junk?
And then the ai and behaviour scripts forn the companions. Horrible. In the Cerka facility on Telos I even went back to the entrance and then turned solo to prevent my companions from triggering the gas traps while fighting the turrets in the second room. And while I'm on it, I suddenly hear one of those stupid guys shouting something about being poisoned.....
And only the "aggressive" script allows for weapon change, but that script is useless if you don't want your companions chase after every enemy who turns up on the horizon, therby probably triggering mines and making any tactical approach to a situation impossible.
So, that's enough blowing off steam for now. I really don't understand all those 5 star ratings. Right now I'd give one, two if the ai was a bit better.
Move on. You made your mind up on the scant experience you've had (and yes, it IS scant), and I suspect nobody is going to change your mind, so instead of complaining, just play something you enjoy.
The game progresses as such: Peragus II -> Telos station -> Telos surface -> "Short part I don't want to spoil" -> The game opens up.
You are maybe one or two hours away from being able to choose between four planets, and another hour from there for your first lightsaber.
So, yes, the prologue is veeeery long, and there are actually some fans of the game who despise Peragus and Telos. There are even mods to skip them.

And then there is the AI... it isn't very good, but again, the underground level on Telos is by far the worst part of the game concerning that. You will be given a quest to escort someone out of there, which will most likely drive you mad, as it has me, because of the path-finding of the NPC.

In conclusion, you're nearly there.

But, I tend to agree with Hickory in general. If you feel like the game is a one out of five stars game... it's probably not for you. Apart from the gameplay itself, the atmosphere, story and characters should have hooked you by now. If they haven't, you won't like the game.

I'd say try to get through the underground level, ignore the guy who wants out, handle the "short part" and then decide after getting your first lightsber.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I'm curious, did you take Urnoev's comment into account and continue playing or did you stop? Also, being at level 12 already on Telos seems a bit high. I did some searching and it looks like a lot of people are only around level 15 at the end of the game. I'm guessing they used the same strategy I did. I usually "saved" my levels for the tough fights so that I could level up when I was almost dead and get full health. Of course do whatever works for you if you are still playing.

Level 15 at the end?? Really? Pretty sure I was at least around level 25 by then... Unless you mean level 15 in your prestige class, since once you get that it starts at 1 (but you keep your previous levels, which will be at least 15 IIRC) - which would make your final level more like 30.

I levelled up whenever I had a chance, mostly. I found it's only worth saving levels for characters that can become Jedis later, so they can have all levels added to their Jedi levels and not their starting character levels.

The combat was easy enough even on difficult to never have to worry about saving levels just to gain health - if you need to do that you can just use one of the many, many medkits you find.

It's been a while since I played it so I couldn't remember what level I was at the end of the game. I just googled it and that was what I came up with but you could very well be right.
