I've downloaded both KoTor and KoTor 2

Win 7 Home Premium 64bit
Intel i3-2370M 2.40GHz
4GB RAM

Got KoToR to run with these settings:

Tried basically the same thing with KoToR 2 with the addition of running it in admin mode and WinXP SP2+3 Compatibility Mode

PLEASE someone help me. I've been digging at this for nearly a week and I'm getting really annoyed.
I've also uninstalled and reinstalled to different folders.
What else am I missing or am I just doomed to not play my favorite out of the two?

I have the same issue too. I gave up trying to make this game work, it's been really frustrating.

This game was made before Intel graphics cards were widely available, so I believe it doesn't support them very well.

If you get stuck trying to make it work, I'd suggest asking gog.com for a refund. They provide no-questions-asked refunds exactly for cases like this.

The alternative is to pick up a second-hand nvidia or amd graphics card from somewhere.
