Gydion: Let's see if GOG forum likes:
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords Unable to move your character That's ^ working for the moment.
Unable to move your character
This is a known issue with running the game at a refresh rate higher than 72 Hz.
Unable to move your character[citation needed]
Hold down both the right and the left mouse button.
Press the quicksave button and keep both mouse buttons pressed during the whole saving process.
Once the saving process is completed your can release both mouse buttons. The character should control normally again.
If you encounter recurring issues with being unable to move your character, enabling Vertical Sync will greatly reduce the occurrences of this problem.
Gydion: Thank you. I have a 60Hz (actually just under, about 59.95Hz, IIRC) television and it happens frequently, though it never did on my old system (which did not have a dedicated graphics card).
It seems to be some sort of clipping error. The character is unmoved, even when the view is oriented differently (usually the map pointer will indicate the new direction faced by the character, as determined by the screen perspective, but this also doesn't move) though the character can perform actions, like flair the equipped weapon/s and cast Jedi powers.
Sometimes I could get the character to move again by using the Jedi speed power, or spinning the view around whilst pressing the forward button (or both the mouse buttons simultaneously), or a combination of these.
As a work-around I was TABbing between characters (whilst on a mission) or selecting objects to inspect/loot, which draws the character away from the stuck position. This obviously doesn't work if the player character is in the Ebon Hawk, or on a solo mission (like Mira in the secret Visquis dungeon).
I shall report back if this doesn't work. (So if I haven't, it did!)
