KOTOR crashes frequently for me. The only modifications I'm using are the restored content mod and flawless widescreen to make it run at my resolution. Running Windows 10 and I've got a GTX 980ti. Any ideas as to what could be going wrong?

The technical term "crashes frequently" isn't particularly helpful. How long after the start of a session? What were you doing when it crashed? (Never the same thing, or specifically when opening the inventory screen, or after a cut-scene, or after saving a game, etc.)

Try some different tasks to see if you can trigger a crash.

This will help to identify in what realm the problem resides, graphics, some operating system process or service clobbering the program's memory, etc.

The first thing to check is whether the problem still happens without the widescreen mod installed. (Mods are created by third parties, so they don't have the benefit of Microsoft OS development regression testing, even if a ten-year old game might—which it wouldn't.)

You need to do some experimenting before anyone can help you.

Figured it out, it was definitely the flawless widescreen program. As soon as I stopped using that the game barely crashed anymore.

Flawless is flakey on many systems, mine included: I just could not get it to work. I used the information about Universal Widescreen Patcher, posted here, and it works perfectly.

I'm honestly okay with playing in 1600x1200, but thanks for linking more info. If I feel the need I'll check it out.
